5/9/12 Karen Sue, I love you. (and you too, Don)

Travel and being on the road is great, but nothing beats a comfortable bed in a beautiful home, a long hot shower with a large, fluffy towel, and coffee on the patio with your childhood girlfriend watchin' the wheat grow.  Well, once she woke up anyway.  Until she did, I had a nice opportunity to chat with Don then I washed the bugs off the Sonata.  About mid-afternoon, Caitlin, Susie, and I hit the road to the Quapaw (pronounced O Gah Pah) casino.  Yes, you read that right, I went to a casino.  What a rookie I am - we walked in and I asked the security guy to take our picture under the sign and he says "no pictures, m'am". Really?  How am I going to document that I was actually here?  No problem, just keep my Q Club card with my name on it.  Pretty clever way to track your every move in the casino.  The three of us sit down at the Wizard of Oz slots,  say goodbye to our hard earned cash and Susie goes right to it while Caitlin and I look at this thing like it's Greek.  We kept pushing buttons but we didn't know what the hell we were doing.  After losing our money immediately, Caitlin and I go to the bar to w(h)ine about it, and Susie makes her way around the room.  We wondered how long it takes before you wipe out the noise of those machines.  After a little repast at one of the restaurants, Susie and I head to a $5 Blackjack table.  I look like a rookie and I play like a rookie - but I cash out $5 up.  I consider that a good day.  (what a rookie!)

How fortunate we are to have the Gardner Hotel and our wonderful hosts to relax for awhile and regroup for the road again.  We love you guys!

Happy gamblin' trails, S
